  • ombre brows

    What are ombre brows?

Ombre brows are a semi permanent brow shading technique performed with a one needle machine to achieve a soft makeup powdered appearance. They can last between 1 – 3 years and is ideal for all skin types. The retention and healing results are better compared to other forms of cosmetic tattooing such as feathering.

The purpose of this shading technique is to create 3D effect and volume for the brows. The results create a powdered effect where the tails of the brows are darker and fade into a light beginning to start of the brow, giving a perfect Ombre effect.

Pigment is gradually implemented into the skin to avoid blocky effect, creating dimension and volume for eyebrows. Beginning of the eyebrow and upper line is less pigmented and soft compared to the lower part of eyebrow and tail.

We also like to add pixel effect shading to the softer looking areas, such as beginning of brow and upper line. The results create a gradient powdered effect with no need to apply makeup on eyebrows every day.

How is my shape and colour chosen?

We make recommendations based on your facial structure, brow measurements, and ratios, skin tone etc.

To start off the consultation for cosmetic brow tattooing we map out your new shape (also according to the shape of your face, and natural brow line) with a cosmetic pencil first so you can see how it will look on your face. We will not start the procedure until you are happy with your new shape and colour

We have a wide range of pigment colours available both natural and bold. Colour recommendations are based off your desired look, skin tone, colouring and any natural undertones detected in your skin.

    Ombre vs feathering/microblading

The biggest difference between these two treatments is the method used and the results achieved. The feathering technique is done by creating micro incisions on the skin surface and filling them with pigments, resembling hairs.

Ombre brows are done by dotting (some artists call this method ‘pixelization’, others call it ‘airbrushing’), so there is no dragging through the skin.

The results of microblading are more natural, while ombre gives the impression of wearing makeup and a bit more of a filled in look. The average lifespan of microbladed brows is 18 months to 2 years, while ombre brows last longer due to the technique used, lasting 2 to 3 years.

There is less pain and bleeding with ombre brows. The ombre technique is less damaging to the skin, as there is no constant opening and dragging the blade through the epidermis.

  • lip blushing

    What is lip blushing?

Lip blushing uses the revolutionary technique of micropigmentation (cosmetic tattooing), which is a method of depositing hypoallergenic mineral pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. With an ultra-thin needle and pigment, the shape of your natural lips is enhanced.

Lip blushing focuses on altering both your natural colour and shape to create younger-looking, fuller lips. No matter the skin type we can achieve natural, soft or intense results based on your preference.

This treatment enhances your natural beauty and subtly gives your features shape and definition. Lip blushing saves you quite a bit of time by eliminating the need for makeup application and gives you a stunning smudge-free effect that will last for several years.

    How is my colour chosen?

We make recommendations on what colour to choose based off your natural skin tone, and use colour theory to correct any undertones that come through on your lips. This ensures that you achieve an even and desirable lip colour.

It also helps when you bring in your favourite lip pencil or stain to your first appointment. This means we can mix a custom colour that will b as close as possible to your go-to lip makeup.

There is a very extensive range of pigment colours available and it’s very easy to tweak or change your colour if you want something more bold down the line.

    Is it permanent?

Micro-pigmentation (cosmetic tattooing) procedures can leave residue pigment in the skin permanently. However, it cannot be truly classed in the same category as a traditional tattoo as in many cases the pigment will fade and may even disappear completely.

Traditional tattooing procedures are practiced using inks and dyes which are implanted at a deeper level of the skin. Lip blushing and ombre brow procedures implant pigment into the upper layer of the skin, meaning it will fade faster over time and requires yearly touch ups to keep the colour and shape maintained.

    Does it hurt?

This is not a completely pain free procedure as, at the end of the day it is a form of tattooing which involves a needle piercing the upper layer of the skin.

In saying this, we have many procedures in place to minimise this pain as much as possible. This includes applying numbing agents multiple times throughout the whole process, taking breaks when needed and applying the correct technique for stretching the skin to avoid dragging.
